Congestion pricing will

unlock a better New York

It’s time for a city that moves faster, breathes easier, and works better. Congestion Pricing will dramatically reduce traffic in the Congestion Relief Zone, transforming the area from gridlocked to unlocked. Less traffic means cleaner air, safer streets and better transit.

Why do we need Congestion Pricing?

A toll to reduce gridlock

Vehicles entering the Congestion Relief Zone – local streets and avenues south of and including 60 St in Manhattan – will be charged a toll. Toll rates will vary by type of vehicle and time of day. Passenger vehicles and motorcycles will only be charged once per day.
